AASA: Driversiti predicts an emergence of a new automotive aftermarket
Our founder Sascha Simon spoke this week at the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association annual conference in Tampa, Florida. Sascha brought Driversiti’s unique perspective on the role of consumer devices as automotive technology.
In a rapidly-changing automotive industry, most focus on using complex sensors to retrofit cars, or on the hardware that will be built into the cars of the future. Our take is that consumer devices will become key parts of the connected car ecosystem.
The important implication of that — and Sascha’s topic in Tampa — is the emergence of a “new aftermarket” focused on services, not hardware. New consumer- or enterprise-focused offerings can leverage off-the-shelf devices in highly intelligent ways. Driversiti’s enterprise offering is one example, and we have more on the way.
Stay tuned for more about our unique approach to the connected car.
