Advanced Personal Safety
Portable Crash Protection
Next Gen Roadside

Automatic Crash Detection and Response
that goes mobile

No other real-time crash detection goes mobile from vehicle to vehicle. Because accidents don’t just happen when driving. They happen when in the passenger seat, or in the backseat while ride sharing. Only Guardian covers with real-time crash detection, even without an installed device in the car.

Triple-Tap™
that makes getting help fast and discreet

Only with Sfara

With Guardian, all your customers have to do is triple-tap the front or back of the phone to contact the Emergency Manager, while in Checkpoint Timer.

They can even tap through a pocket or an external purse compartment.

With Triple Tap, it’s easy to rapidly respond to growing threats without giving away that help is on the way.

Triple-tap is exclusive patent-pending
technology from sfara!

Checkpoint Timer
that checks in when there’s no response

If your employee is about to make a cash deposit, meet a troublesome client, go for a trail run at lunch, or just walk to the Metro at night, they can set a Checkpoint Timer.

They enter a PIN to release the timer. If the timer goes off and they haven’t entered the PIN, we’ll call to check in. If they’re not responsive, we’ll determine if it makes sense to send help.

With Checkpoint Timer, your employees work with confidence.

SOS Button
that quickly gets support or assistance

The SOS button isn’t just for emergencies. It’s also for situations that just don’t feel right, or for when a situation is escalating.
Your people can tap SOS to connect with an Emergency Manager. We’ll stay with them until the situation has passed. Or, we’ll be there to assist if necessary.

Emergency Navigator
that guides to the nearest help

When your employees face an emergency that is not life-threatening, they’ve got enough on their minds without having to think about finding the closest emergency facility and the best way to get there. We’ll get them the info they need to quickly get there. We’ll even stay on the line to give turn-by-turn directions.

Emergency Manager
that bridges gaps in our outdated 911 system

Most people are not calm during a crisis. Many can barely function. With Guardian, your customers get an Emergency Manager who will guide them through their situations and offer a calming, reassuring presence.

Plus, it’s remarkable that the 911 infrastructure is less equipped to locate and track mobile calls than pizza delivery shops.

Our Emergency Managers also help 911 dispatchers, who are operating with technological limitations. We bridge that gap, assisting with leading-edge technology, including situational awareness and GPS-based location tracking. We can even provide health or medication info from approved profiles.

The defusing power of a distraction

With Fake Call, your employees or customers create a quick and easy excuse to get out of an escalating situation, conversation or meeting.

> Schedule a call
> Initiate a call spur-of-the-moment

Compare driving behaviors

Your people get a bimonthly report to review their key driving behaviors and compare them to other drivers.

> Top speeds and number of times over speed limit
> Hard braking and accelerations
> Hours driven
> And more

In an emergency
The first four minutes matter

60% of mobile calls to 911 cannot be accurately located causing delayed responses

American Heart Association states that survival rates for cardiac arrest patients fall 7-10% for every untreated minute.

A solution that could reduce response times by only one minute on average would save thousands of lives per year across the nation.

The FCC estimates that improved location accuracy in the 911 system could save over 10,000 lives a year.

We are always testing and certifying additional phones. If you’re interested in having your phone added to the list, message us on Facebook or Twitter and we will do our best to prioritize. Because this is a life safety service, we do not recommend using Sfara Guardian on other models until certified.

What is the difference between Sfara Guardian and other personal emergency apps and services?
When compared to other solutions, no one offers a safety service as comprehensive as Guardian. If you were to try and recreate the same benefit, you would need to engage two or three different companies and buy their services, which would be at least 3X times the cost.  Yet you would still be missing exclusively patented Sfara features such as TripleTap™ and our advanced real-time crash detection that runs natively on your phone.
What will happen if I initiate an alarm by mistake?
No need to worry. Our SOS, Checkpoint Timer, and Triple Tap all have a 10-second countdown during which you can enter your PIN to cancel your alarm. If you forgot your PIN or don’t enter your PIN in time, a Sfara Emergency Manager will call you to see if you need assistance. Simply tell them you initiated the alert in error, they will validate some information with you to make sure everything is OK.
Where can I use Sfara Guardian?
Sfara Guardian is currently available anywhere in the U.S. Because we work with any mobile service provider, Guardian will provide protection anywhere you have minimum 3G connection.
How do I use Sfara Guardian?
At the push of a button, a Triple Tap or when we detect a crash, the Guardian app will connect you to trained Guardian Emergency Managers – who will get you the help you need, when you need it most. In non-emergency situations they can just stay on the line with you when things “just don’t feel right” like checking out a noise in your house or walking through an elevated crime area. We’re happy to be there for you, if you’re wondering “should I connect with Sfara,” we suggest that you press the SOS button.
How does Sfara Guardian detect I’ve been in a car crash?
Our patented technology was built by us from the ground up. Our data science package analyzes a full range of your phone’s mobile sensors, in real-time, right on your device. It continuously compares those inputs against nearly 1,000 real-world and NHTSA-certified test crashes we’ve performed. If our patented data science senses the “fingerprint” of a crash it instantly sends out a small data packet to our Emergency Managers who spring into action for you.
What happens if my phone is damaged or destroyed during a crash?
Because we engineered Sfara Guardian to specifically to run on the smartphone, all of the detections are being done on the phone in real time.  If we sense a crash, a small data packet is instantly transmitted to our Emergency Managers even before the full impact of the crash is sustained to the car or occupants. In such a case our Emergency Managers will understand the severity of the event and dispatch emergency responders, regardless of whether they can speak to you on a damaged phone.
Will Sfara Guardian think I've been in an accident if I drop my phone?

No. Sfara Guardian’s patented technology and data science is sophisticated enough to easily know the difference between a phone being thrown or dropped – and being in a vehicle crash.

What is Sfara Guardian Roadside assistance service?
Guardian users have access to dedicated, on-demand roadside services through a strategic partnership we’ve created with Urgent.ly. Unlike traditional, outdated services that stack their requests for roadside assistance, we send you a truck dedicated to you, which means you get help faster. After you request roadside support, a dedicated truck is immediately dispatched to your location and you will be able to track the tow or service truck in real-time, right on your phone. Plus, if you purchase an annual subscription to Sfara Guardian, you’ll get four roadside events per year at no extra charge!
How much data and battery does Sfara Guardian use?
We designed Sfara Guardian to run natively on the phone, so there is no consistent refreshing or transmitting of data. Because Guardian is also designed to run “in the background” it also draws very little of your battery. Illustratively, in a background state Guardian draws about as much power as Twitter or WhatsApp. When Guardian senses your movement in a vehicle and initiates crash detection, it moves into a higher power state that draws power similarly to Facebook or Snapchat.
How is Sfara Guardian working with my local 911?
Sfara’s emergency provider network is connected to the 5,500+ local public safety access points (PSAPs) across the country that serve first responders. The technology that we deploy is more advanced than the PSAPs have at their disposal. Therefore by acting as an intermediary, we are able to help solve critical questions for them:  Where are you calling from? Who are you? What’s happening? As well as real-time updates on your location along with any special information you’ve included in your profile. All of this data can be shared with PSAPs even if you are in a situation where you can’t speak.

Most importantly, our Guardian’s Emergency Managers will stay on the line with you until help arrives.

Will Sfara share my information with anyone? How do I know my data is protected?
We will not share your information outside of Sfara for any purpose, other than to deliver the service to you, unless ordered to do so by a court.  User privacy and protection is paramount to us at Sfara. That’s another reason why Guardian is specifically designed to run natively on each phone, and send very little data to us.  Any data that we do receive is kept on AWS data servers that are encrypted using the AES-256 algorithm. The AES-256 encryption algorithm is considered to be the top cipher authorized by the NSA for business use.
Why do you need the different “permissions” from my phone? What happens if I turn these off?
Sfara Guardian only requests permissions that are needed to provide the service. If these are disabled, you will get a notification from Guardian that it is unable to function and all of the keys on the home screen will “grey-out” until you restore permissions.

  • GPS: Determine precise location in an emergency & provide crash detection
  • Motion & Fitness: Access to sensors so we can provide crash detection
  • Notifications: Present alarms when the app is running in the background
  • Override Do Not Disturb: Present alarms when phone is “silent”
